1st mental toughness camp 2009

It was a memorable and greatest experience I have ever had in my entire life - the 1st Mental Toughness Camp for the Malaysian national badminton players here in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia!
I tacked along in the singles camp (30/1 to 2/2/09) and doubles camp (5/2-8/2/09) together with Frederick Tan, the Satellite Centre head from the National Sports Institute of Malaysia, national singles chief coach, Dato Misbun Hj Sidek, national doubles chief coach, Rexy Mainaky and doubles coach Rosman Razak.

The national singles team lead by  current world number one singles player, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, included one-time All-England champion Mohd Hafiz Hashim, Kuan Beng Hong, Chan Kwong Beng, Darren Liew, Mohd Arif Abdul Latif and Tan Chung Seng, Vountus Indra Mawan, Kuan Kam Chung, Lok Chong Chieh, Lim Fang Yang, Chong Wei Feng, Misbun Shawal Mohmed Misbun and Misbun Rmdan Mohmed Misbun. The women players were Julia Wong, Lydia Cheah, Wong Mew Choo, Stephanie Shalini and Ooi Swee Wenn.

In the doubles team were Tan Boon Heong, Koo Kien Kiet, Fairuzizzuan Tazari, Mohd Zakry Latif, Mohd Razif Latif, Chan Peng Soon, Mak Hee Chun, Tan Wee Keong, Khoo Chung Cheat and Teo Kok Seang. The women doubles team, Chin Eei Hui, Ng Hui Lin, Goh Liu Ying, Woon Khe Wei, Amelia Ascelly and Wong Pei Tty.
The camp was to prepare the shuttlers for the All-England and the World Championship this year. Both the singles & doubles camp lasted for 4 days & 3 nights at Camp Permai, Stakan Paintball Arena and the 7th Mile Army Camp and a short tour to Malaysia largest badminton hall with 39 courts - Sentosa Sports Centre.
