The above players will undergo a special training program to prepare for the coming national circuit but first there will be a reminder to them to follow the rules & regulations on coaching including players, team mates and parents.
The role of parents and guardians into developing their kid into better players has to be refreshed, any wrong support, strategies given will end up a deadlock instead of helping them. pBm trains players to become a smart independent player (when the time is right) whilst in doing so do not like such interferences. This has happened in this recent tournament and has to be stopped.
The gold medals were won by:
Clement Chieng (boys u14 singles)
Jong Wee Fook (boys u16 singles),
Jong Wee Fook / James Liaw - Miri BA (boys u16 doubles) and
Andy Ng / Lai Zing Neng (boys u18 doubles).
The silver medals went to:
Azubair b. Harry / Jeremy Kho (boys u12 doubles),
Chai Hui Ching / Mitchell Tiong - Miri BA (girls u14 doubles),
Michelle Kong (girls u16 singles) &
Michelle Kong / Bong Sook Jong (girls u16 doubles).
pBm sent a total of 39 players including 23 from the elite team and participated only in 12 of the 16 categories, missing out the girls u12 & u18, singles and doubles completely. In the u14 girls, only Chai Hui Ching participated. Hence, a verbal proposition has been made to Kuching Badminton Association chief coach, Johnny Ng to look into the possibility to work together and identify some young girls aged 10 & 11 to fill in this slot. Meanwhile awaiting confirmation from them.
